BROOMBALL EVENT & SOCIAL!
|
|
WHEN: FRI MAR 4, 2011, 8:30p-11p+
WHERE: Cary Polar Ice House
WHAT:Broomball Event and Pregame Social
What is BROOMBALL? Good Question. Broomball is a cross between ice hockey and street hockey. The game is played on an ice rink, but everyone wears their tennis shoes. We use a large ball rather than a puck, and we play with broom-like paddles rather than hockey sticks. We'll supply everything you need: the helmets, the brooms & the balls. Things we recommend you bring (but are not necessary): knee pads, elbow pads, and warm clothes that are easy to shed, in case you get hot. Broomball can be played 5-on-5, 10-on-10, 20-on-20 or even 40-on-40. Sometimes we'll use more than one ball at a time. If you've never played, you REALLY need to try this; it's a riot. This slipping and sliding around the ice is fun for all skill levels. See the last event's photos!
