Final 4our 3 on 3 Tournament Rules

Please read and review all rules prior to competition. If you have any questions, please ask them before the contest begins. It is not the responsibility of the game supervisors or referees to review the rules with you other than clarification at the beginning of the tournament.

Before the Game Begins

Each team must have three to five players as indicated by their signup sheet. There will be no substitutions or additions of players to the roster once the tournament has begun.

All games must start with three players on each team, unless a team with three players agrees to allow the opposing team to play with only two players. If a team does not have the required 3 players to begin a game the opposing team captain may agree to allow the team to compete with 3 players. If the opposing team captain does not agree to allow the team to compete with two players the shorthanded team will be penalized 1 point for up to 10 minutes at which point the game will be considered a forfeit if the additional player does not arrive.

A coin flip prior to the start of the game will determine which team has the initial possession during pool play. The tournament seeding will be based on pool play record, and point differential.

Team Captains

Each team should choose a team captain prior to the beginning of play. The team captain is the ONLY person authorized to question calls or ask for rules verification from the game supervisor or referee. Verbal abuse of the officials or referees by any player including the team captains will NOT be tolerated.

Regardless of whether the free throw(s) are made, the opposing team checks the ball from the top of the 2pt arc. The try for goal shall be made within 10 seconds after the ball has been placed at the disposal of the free thrower.
